SEND
At South Failsworth Primary, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is unique and valued. Through our comprehensive approach to SEND, we strive to provide a secure, caring and happy environment in which all children can thrive. Our curriculum for SEND pupils is designed to be challenging so they achieve their ambitions and lead happy, successful lives.
Our dedication to remove barriers to learning and make reasonable adjustments to the curriculum allows us to meet all children's individual needs and helps us to maximize every child's inclusion in all aspects of school life. We believe in equal opportunities for all, where everyone is treated with respect, dignity and is equally valued. We value and honour the views of our children and their families and provide opportunities for them to influence change and to be fully involved in the decision making process.
Our SENDCO, Emma Gorton, is a SLE (Specialist Leader of Education) - a role she has been in for 4 years and she has been a SENDCo for 22 years.
Our SENDCO works together with class teachers and the Senior Leadership team to provide support across our school. Mrs Gorton is also supported by Jacelyn Tapper, our Pastoral Leader and a number of other experienced SEND staff.
Below is more detail about how we provide for children with special educational needs. Please take some time to read through it and if you have any further queries please contact Emma Gorton. For specific concerns about your child please contact your class teacher in the first instance.
