Keeping children safe can take the form of teaching children and supporting them to;

• keep themselves safe and healthy
• recognise and manage risk
• develop healthy habits
• learn about sex and relationships
• be aware of online safety including grooming
• deal with conflict and bullying
• develop positive attitudes

Safeguarding is also concerned with issues of child protection and keeping children safe from environmental harm or harm from others which might take the form of;

• neglect, emotional and physical
• sexual abuse
• physical abuse
• grooming for sexual purposes
